Couples and Smoking

What you need to know when you’re pregnant

Have you ever noticed how sometimes what you do or the way you think is influenced by others?  The decisions you make around your health are no different—they are often influenced by other people in your life.

When a woman discovers she’s pregnant, she often times reconsiders her health behaviours and try to make changes.  Some women think about reducing or stopping their smoking.  Before you start to change your smoking habits, it’s important that you understand how smoking is influenced by the routines and habits of others in your life and household.

A person who smokes is more likely to quit if they get support from partners and other people.
