Davey Dejarlais

Davey Dejarlais was one of the runner-ups in the NHCP Search for Northern Youth Role Models. Davey is from La Ronge, where he attend Churchill High School.

Davey is an avid musician. He was selected for the 2014 Northern Sprits showcase and teaches guitar to other students. He is involved with the Lunchtime Jam Sessions at his school and has a vision of expanding the program to give students more opportunities to express themselves. 

Davey feels strongly about giving back to his community. During the Special Olympics he helped out as a committee member, coach and volunteer. 

Those who know Davey comment on his sense of humour, passion, empathy and strong character. His ability to stay true to himself will help him go far in life. 

Davey's message to youth is this: "You can find your sense of self through creativity.  Whether its music, art, dance or anything else there are many different ways to express yourself and be happy". 

The NHCP would like to recognize Davey and say thank you for being such a great role model.
